Today we have three new patterns to share with you, two beautiful Russian girls and a gorgeous flower. These counted cross stitch patterns were designed by our own talented designer, Kseniya Adonyeva and evoke the beauty of Spring with their loveliness. If you are looking for some fresh patterns to add to your collection, you’ve definitely come to the right place. These patterns, while simple in design, will add depth and beauty to any crafter’s home.
Russian Easter Story
This beautiful young girl is clothed in a traditional Russian dress. She is ready for Easter, carrying a Pashka. The Pashka is a traditional Russian Easter cake, much like a cheesecake, but in a truncated pyramid shape, a symbol of the church. The Pashka is white in color, symbolizing the purity of Christ, the Paschal Lamb, and the joy of the Resurrection. The letters XB stand for the Slavonic form of the traditional Easter greeting “Christ is Risen.” We especially love the rich red hues of the dress matching the decoration of the delicious looking cake.
“Russian Easter Story” is 47X103 stitches and uses 24 colors. The techniques used are Cross Stitch, Half Cross Stitch and Back Stitch.
Our second lovely girl is a design based on a picture by Elena Platonicheva. Elena’s adorable pictures of little girls are quite touching and sweet. Kseniya has designed two other patterns in our collection based on Ms. Platonicheva’s girls; “Russian Winter” and “Russian Winter 2.” With the addition of “Russian Spring,” we continue our growing seasonal collection, to which will be added “Russian Summer” and “Russian Fall” soon.
This colorful pattern evokes the soft beauty of Spring with the sweet young lady wearing a wonderful crown of fresh spring flowers. We think this design would look especially well in a young girl’s bedroom accompanied by the other girls in the seasonal collection.
“Russian Spring” is 89x133 stitches and uses 43 colors. The techniques used are Cross Stitch, Half Cross Stitch and Back Stitch.
Plants in the Mallow family are both beautiful and useful. Many varieties of Mallow plants are used medicinally and as food. This beautiful cross stitch pattern, again brought to us by our talented designer Kseniya, is a lovely depiction of a Mallow flower that would suit any home. This pattern is perfect for working up on a light pink fabric to showcase the delicate flowers.
“Mallow” is 117x214 stitches and uses 27 colors (7 mixed). It uses Cross Stitch and Back Stitch techniques.
Enjoy your stitching!
